Speed&Smarts by David Dellenbaugh

Speed & Smarts is a bi-monthly newsletter packed with tips to improve your racing performance. It's written by winning AC tactician David Dellenbaugh, and each issue has 16 pages full of instructional advice on tactics, strategy, speed, boathandling and rules (plus there's no advertising!).  Speed & Smarts is available worldwide in paper or electronic format, and each new sub comes with a money-back guarantee!

David Dellenbaugh is the publisher, editor and author of Speed & Smarts. He was the tactician and starting helmsman on America3 during her successful defense of the America's Cup in 1992 and sailed in three other America's Cup campaigns. David is also a Lightning world champion, two-time Congressional Cup winner, six-time Thistle national champion, two-time winner of the Canada's Cup, two-time Prince of Wales U.S. match racing champion and past winner of the U.S. team racing championships for the Hinman Trophy.
Dellenbaugh was an associate editor of Sailing World and the original author of its popular Around The Buoys column. He is a co-author of Smallboat Sailing, published by Sports Illustrated, and author of the Quick Reference Rules card. Dellenbaugh also wrote and narrated the Learn The Racing Rules video set.
As director of marketing for North Sails, he wrote the North U. Fast, Smart, One-Design and Cruising courses. He is currently the chairman of the US Sailing Racing Rules Committee.

Introduction to Speed & Smarts

Most racing sailors I know are hungry for useful, hand-on information that will help them win more races. That's why I started Speed & Smarts. It uses practical, hands-on teaching methods that make learning easy and help you transfer your new knowledge to the race course. As you can see from the sample issue on this website, each newsletter is full of diagrams, photos, graphs, charts, lists and tips.

Whether you race a one-design or big boat, at the top or bottom of your fleet, you'll find lots of valuable ideas in Speed & Smarts. In fact, when you consider the cost of other go-fast items you can buy,  this newsletter gives you extremely good "bang for your buck."

We have subscribers in all 50 states and 25 countries. Many have signed up for more than one year and have bought copies of all the back issues.

Because I'm so convinced that Speed & Smarts will make you a more accomplished and confident racer, I include a money-back guarantee with every subscription. If you're not completely satisfied with this newsletter, just let me know and I'll give you a refund.

So this year, invest a few dollars in the most important performance variable of all – yourself! Simply fill add your subscription to your shopping cart and check out.  – We'll send your welcome package and your first issue soon!

Thanks, David Dellenbaugh – Publisher/Editor
